Well, I was right on with my assessment in many ways, but the Falcons and Texans collapse has brought an unexpected turn to the season.
I had the Pats followed by Miami, Buffalo, and the Jets. Had that one nailed to a tee. I am amazed how well the Pats are doing, even with being as depleted as they are. Losing Wilfork and Mayo kills any hope of a deep playoff run..
Had Bengals, Ravens, Steelers, and Browns. Pretty close to right on but I am very suprised that the Ravens offense has been so hit or miss.
The Texans downfall really through off this division for me. I had the Colts and Titans right behind, but I am surprised at the great start Tennessee got off too. It will be interesting to see how well they hold up with Jake Locker being injured and Ryan Fitzpatrick stepping in. I haven’t sold the Texans just yet, but well see.
Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders
I was right on here. I did think the Chiefs would be good just not this good. I put them at 8-8 or so. They are in good shape to finish 10-6 or 11-5, because they can lose to the Broncos twice and still be in great shape. San Diego has a shot of making a run. The coaching change and new GM has been a good thing for this team and franchise.
My original playoff teams
1. Denver – now – Denver
2. Houston – now — Indy
3. Patriots – now – Patriots
4. Bengals — now — Bengals
5. Colts – now — Chiefs
6. Ravens — now –Chargers
Pats over Chargers
Bengals over Chiefs
Denver over Pats
Colts over Bengals
Broncos over Colts
Eagles, Cowboys, Redskins, Giants.
I thought the Eagles were going to be good along with the Cowboys. I was wrong. One will get in, I still think it will be the Eagles. I don’t trust Cowboys now. Heck, the Redskins might be making a run now.
Packers, Bears, Lions, Vikings
I still like the Packers, not as sold on the Bears, and do the Lions have a run in them?
Saints, Falcons, Panthers, Bucs
I still like the Saints. I was way off on the Falcons. I thought that the Steven Jackson addition would put them over them top. Injuries have hurt badly this year. I see the Panthers making the playoffs now.
49ers, Seahawks, Cardinals, Rams.
I was way off on Seattle. I really thought they would take a slight step back this year. I was dead wrong. I do like the 49ers a lot still. Interested in how they will play Seattle in rematch.
1. 49ers — Seattle
2. Saints – New Orleans
3. Packers — Packers
4. Eagles –Cowboys
5. Falcons — 49ers
6. Cowboys — Panthers
NFC WILD CARD
Panthers over Packers
49ers over Cowboys
Seattle over Panthers
49ers over Saints
Seattle over 49ers
Seattle over Denver. I like Denver to get there. I think losing John Fox is a blow and Seattle defensively could stymie Broncos.
